How Reflectime handles what you write. Effective September 11, 2026.

Reflectime

Reflectime is a private journaling app. There is no Reflectime account and no Reflectime server. Reflections you write stay on your devices.

What is stored

Titles, body text, categories, timestamps, and writing prompts you customize are stored in the app’s Core Data store. If you are signed in to iCloud on the device, that store syncs through Apple CloudKit using the container on your Apple ID. Ian Relecker cannot read your journal.

Location is optional. Coordinates are saved with a reflection only when you choose to include them, and only so you can see where you were later. Location is not used for advertising or analytics.

On-device Apple Intelligence, when available, can summarize or tag a reflection you already opened. That text is processed on the device and is not sent to a Reflectime service.

Notifications and search

An optional daily reminder is scheduled locally on the device. Titles may be indexed with Spotlight on that device so you can find them from Search. Neither leaves your Apple ID.

What is not collected

Reflectime does not include analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or third-party tracking SDKs. There is no Reflectime backend that receives journal content.
